What changed.

Filters got out of the way, and four things stopped misbehaving

    • All Tasks, Rewards and Goals share one layout now. The tabs sit inside the card, every filter folds behind a single Filter button that tells you how many are on, and what you filtered for is no longer mixed in with the controls that produced it.
    • On a phone that means the list starts higher up the screen. On All Tasks the first real row moved up by about forty points, on Rewards by over a hundred.
    • Energy and time are two separate chips on a task. A card used to be able to read Medium twice and mean two different things by it.
    • The eye on a password field actually shows what you typed. The empty state used to be drawn with bullet characters, so a blank field looked full and revealing it appeared to do nothing.
    • Add to home screen opens when you ask for it in Settings, instead of closing itself the moment it looked.
    • A habit you only do once a week now says it is done for the week. It used to sit there looking untouched until the week rolled over.
    • Choosing Another day no longer picks a date by itself while you scroll past one.
    • The empty screens are written for a brand new account. Several of them assumed you already had tasks, habits or rewards and blamed a filter for the silence.

Priorities keep their day, and habits you can put down

    • A priority now belongs to the day you picked it for. If you do not finish it, it stays on that day instead of quietly becoming one of tomorrow's three, and tomorrow opens at three whatever happened.
    • Anything left behind is waiting on Today under its own date, with the day it was for. Bringing one back is one tap and it is yours to decide.
    • Tasks can be graded Must, Should or Nice, and All Tasks can sort and filter by it. It is optional and nothing is graded unless you say so.
    • Did a habit last night and forgot to tick it? It waits at the bottom of today's habits and one tap logs it for yesterday, points and all.
    • Habits you have made automatic can be archived. They leave your daily list and keep every day they ever recorded.
    • Patterns shows each habit as a row of squares, one per day, so you can see the run rather than a number. Habits with a weekly or monthly count show how many times you did it against how many you meant to.
    • Day by day has a scale on it now, a year is drawn by month so it fits, and you can page back through any window.
    • A streak gets a proper moment at three days, a week, a fortnight, a month, and on from there.

    Free and Plus

    • Actto now has two plans. Free is up to three priorities a day, the energy and time filter, the brain dump, the meter that adds your hours up, three habits and three rewards. Plus adds areas, goals and projects, Patterns, the AI planner, and no limit on habits or rewards.
    • Every account opens on 14 days of Plus. There is no card, nothing to cancel, and it turns into Free on its own.
    • Nothing you have already made is ever removed by moving to Free. Goals, projects, habits and rewards you built stay there, stay visible and stay editable. Only making new ones stops.
    • Everyone using Actto before today keeps Plus.

Put it on your home screen, and a page that stops jumping

    • Actto offers to install itself to your home screen when it can actually do it, instead of asking on a browser where the answer would be no.
    • Ticking a habit off no longer moves the page under your finger.
    • Searching All Tasks opens the groups the results are in, so a match in a collapsed section is not invisible.
    • A step's name can be corrected without deleting it and starting again.

    It works without a signal

    • Actto opens and shows your day with no connection at all.
    • Anything you capture offline is held and sent the moment there is a signal. A thought caught on a train lands.

Patterns, weekday habits, and a real clock

    • Patterns: which days you actually finish things on, where the hours went by area, and what you get done at each energy level. Nothing on it is a target and nothing is a score.
    • A habit can belong to particular days, so the ones that are not daily stop landing on every day.
    • You can skip a habit for a day. It earns nothing and it does not touch your streak.
    • A task can happen at a set time, and Actto says so when two of them would overlap.
    • Weeks can start on Monday.
    • Export what you are looking at, as a spreadsheet, whenever you want it.
    • Claiming a reward can be undone, and the XP comes back.

Steps, and a shortlist instead of a hundred things

    • A task can have steps, as a checklist. The XP splits across them, so breaking something down never pays more or less than doing it in one go.
    • A step that turns out to need its own day can graduate into a project.
    • Up next: a shortlist of the undated things you actually mean to get to. It sorts to the top of Someday, and Right now offers it first.
    • Quick sort, for getting through a pile. Two questions per card instead of opening, setting and saving each one.
    • Someday can be grouped by area and sorted, and areas have their own colors.

    The reward economy gets honest

    • Rewards were priced far too high against what a day actually earns. A day of tasks is worth around 120 XP, and the tiers now start at 60 instead of 1,000.
    • Priorities pay more than regular tasks, because they are the harder thing to do.
    • Time estimates are real minutes now, so the capacity meter and the planner agree with each other.

See where it has got to.

Free, no card, and about a minute to start.
